Sonohyan-utaki Ishimon -Sonohyan-utaki Stone Gate.
📌Note : In the wake of the fire at Shurijo Seiden, "Shurijo Castle Park", namely the facilities inside the park including paid admission facilities, is subject to unscheduled closure from October 31st.
The Stone Gate of Sonohyon Utaki was constructed in 1519, and used as a place of worship for the royal family. When the King was away, prayers for a safe journey were offered at the gate.
In addition, this sacred spot is said to have been visited by the highest noro priestess Kikoe-okimi after her enthronement and the first utaki visited on royal pilgrimages.
