The amazing Higashi-Chaya Teahouse District at Higashiyama in #Kanazawa. 👘

Well, what can I tell you guys about this amazing place at Kanazawa in #Ishikawa prefecture.
First off, rewind back to history around 1820, randomly dispersed chaya houses were collected into certain regions by the lord of the clan.
3 streets of latticed chaya houses still remain where you will be able to feel the authentic Japanese atmosphere.
In chaya houses, geisha or widely recognized as professional female entertainers perform traditional Japanese dance and other entertainment. 👘
Secondly, there are three districts in total, and the Higashi Chaya District (東茶屋街, Higashi Chayagai) is the largest and by far the most interesting. 🍵
Two chaya, the Shima Teahouse and Kaikaro Teahouse, are open to the public. Other buildings along the central street now house cafes and shops. One of the shops, Hakuza, sells gold leaf products, a specialty of Kanazawa, and displays a tea ceremony room which is completely covered in gold leaf.

If you want a memorable experience enjoying the teahouse atmosphere, this is the right place to be where guests are entertained by geisha who perform song and dance. An unforgettable experience! 👘
