This onsen resort is regarded as one of the top three major onsen in Japan. The unique "jikanyu" or timed bathing and "yumomi" or water beating are still practiced until now since the Edo period.
This hot spring resort boasts the highest yield of natural hot spring water in Japan. Not forgetting it produces the spring water known as "Yubatake" (meaning hot water fields - a wooden facility for thermal moderation of the water). Just brilliant!

Access :
Take the JR Bus Kanto from platforms 1-3 in front of the Naganoharakusatsuguchi Station on JR Agatsuma Line headed for the Kusatsu-onsen-bus-terminal for about 25 minutes. Get off at the Kusatsu-onsen-bus-terminal and walk for about 5-20 minutes.
