The popular Yasaka Shrine 八坂神社 in Higashiyama-ku, #Kyoto. 🏯

Yasaka-jinja (shrine) worships Susanoo-no-mikoto, Kushiinadahime-no-mikoto, and Yahashira-no-mikogami.
Yasaka-jinja hosts Kyoto's biggest festival, the popular Gion Matsuri in the month of July. The annual Gion Matsuri procession begins from Yasaka Shrine on July the 17th.

It also attracts millions of visitors yearly for "hatsumode", during first shrine visit of the New Year.
Besides that, this shrine also known as Gion Shrine held "Setsubun" festival in early February with an evening bonfire, the "Ochatsubo Dochu"(Traveling Tea Canisters) festival on May 1st, and "Shichi-go-san" in November.
It is also reputedly popular among geikos and maikos not forgetting a number of the shrine's many annual festivals are attended by them too. An excellent shrine to visit for visitors all year round and this map below showing the
Worship Regular Route taken by my relatives who visited the shrine back in spring in 2019.
