Fabulous autumn foliage spot in the land of the Japanese myth at Gokase Valley in #Miyazaki. 🍁🍂

The Gokase Valley at #Miyazaki.
Every body knows the popular "Takachiho-kyou" where it is a canyon at the Gokase River.
A little background on its legendary tale :
The sun god said to be the goddess of the Japanese emperor, the grandson of the Amaterasu "Ninigino Mikoto" was descended from heaven and seeded ear of rice plant.
The grandson of the Amaterasu was descended and brought the light to the darkness. "Takachiho" was named after this Japanese mythology. So, now you know where it got it's name eh.

Am focusing more on the Gokase Valley itself. This erosional valley was formed when lava flowed in a belt shape and rapidly cooled during two of Mt. Ado's volcanic eruptions in the distant past.

This valley is famous for its beautiful, vivid fall foliage which is produced by the area's high elevation and cold climate. The 60-meter-high "Shirataki Waterfall" is located nearby, and in the autumn visitors can enjoy the beautiful contrast of the foliage with the spray of the falls. Really amazing place to explore!
You can enjoy the stunning nature at the Takachiho Gorge by renting a boat too.
Psst, this place is one of my Japanese teachers hometown and it is absolutely beautiful! 💞
