The marvellous Takada Park famous for cherry blossoms night viewing in #Niigata. 🌸

Takada Park was developed on the former site of Takada Castle which was built by the sixth son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, Mr. Tadahiro Matsudaira in the Edo period (1603-1868).
It was recently renamed "Takada Castle Site Park" on April 1st 2020, in order to improve the attractiveness of the Park and promote the town development utilizing the history and culture of the castle town Takada.

It is perhaps most famous in spring especially for night viewing when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. The park and surrounding area contain about 4000 "Somei Yoshino" type of cherry trees.

The "Takada Castle Site Park Cherry Blossom Festival" is held every year from early to mid-April. While in summer time, the Lotus festival is normally held from late July to mid August.
Come over to Takada Park when the current pandemic situation has subsided and I promised you, you'll not regret it. It truly is a beautiful place to visit during spring time.
